Congratulations to Patrick Kane of Tekoa, Washington…SafeTruck’s May 2014 Oversize Load Contest Winner!
Mr. Kane is owner/operator of Patrick Jay Kane Trucking, Specializing in hopper bottom, flat bed and heavy hauling. His winning entry is a 1969 1470 Case Wheel Tractor that he purchased to restore and add to his antique tractor collection. He picked up and loaded the tractor in Pomeroy, WA and hauled it back home to Tekoa, WA, approximately 87 miles one way. DIMs for this haul were 16’ long, 9’ 6” wide, 12’ high and 20,000 pounds. Two 18” x 84” SafeTruck Vinyl Oversize Load banners and six SafeTruck Flo-Orange Safety Flags were used front and back of the load. Mr. Kane purchases his SafeTruck products through Colfax Napa Auto Parts (Colfax, WA) and Western Peterbilt (Liberty Lake, WA).
Interestingly, Mr. Kane said that since the tractor was an antique, it did not run, so he had to use another tractor and a Chevy pickup truck to pull/push the tractor on to the trailer! Once back in Tekoa, two CAT tractors were used to unload the antique tractor and place it among his other antique tractors.
